Welcome to Dr. David Atteberry! Dr. Atteberry was most recently on the faculty at the prestigious University of Pittsburgh’s dept of neurosurgery. He completed his residency and fellow ship at the University of Pittsburg with special training in Radiosurgery of the brain and spine. He has a special interest complex spine and will be a great additiion to our new Spine Center.

We are excited to have Dr. David Lindgren join us at Apple Valley Family Medicine this summer. Dr. Puneet Kakkar, another great Family Medicine Doctor will be joining our Cornerstone practice. Dr. Jacob Joy is our newest addition to our Hospitalist program and everyone is looking forward to having him on the team.

Recruitment responds to growth at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital

We are excited to have such positive response to our website and our inquiries through Practice Link and Practice Alert. We have just added a new Neurosurgeon to our staff and have interviewed a great Vascular candidate. We are looking to add 6 additional Hospitalists in the upcoming year to keep up with the inpatient needs for our Family Medicine and Internal Medicine primary care providers. The ever increasing demand for our Emergency services has increased our need for 3-4 new ER physicians. The Spine Center is moving forward and we are looking for a PM&R physician to complete the team. We have added two new Primary Care groups and are looking for good candidates in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. Yakima is a great place to live and practice medicine!

YAKIMA, Wash. — Paige Hutton’s goal is to manage a hotel or run her own catering business.

She’s pursuing a marketing degree full-time, while supporting herself and her 19-month-old daughter.

So it was the perfect situation when she was hired about a month ago by the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, where in addition to checking customers in and out, she’s gotten training on working with large groups and helped develop room packages for the hotel.

“I thought the customer service jobs, which would be a good opportunity for me to grow, would be taken right away,” the 26-year-old said.

Not so. While not immune to the recession, the local tourism business has held relatively steady — at least compared to the rest of the state.
