[Yakima’s Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) is the Pacific Northwest’s first new medical school in 60 years.

Just more than 30 miles from Yakima, Central Washington University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, with more than 30 programs in four schools.

Washington State University extension programs in Yakima offer degrees in business, agriculture, human development, nursing, humanities and a variety of social sciences.
The Central Washington Family Medicine Residency Program, affiliated with the University of Washington trains physicians for family medicine service in the Yakima area and other rural and underserved communities.
